
Formation of the Rural Municipality of Antler

At the organizational meeting held on June 9, 1909, it was decided the committee would consist of A.M. Stephen, James Lewthwaite, J. H. Fry, D. Purdon and J. McAuley. The chairman and the secretary was named. They also spoke of potential names for the upcoming new Rural Municipality.​​

At the committee meeting held on July 3, 1909, discussions took place on whether a Municipality should be formed. Election arrangements were made. A.M. Stephen would be the returning officer. Each division had their own Deputy Returning officer and their own polling place.

It was decided at the committee meeting held on November 1, 1909, that a Municipality would be formed. Nominations would be held in Bower's Hall on December 6, 1909 from one to two o'clock in the afternoon Mountain Standard time. Division 1 Polling place would be in Antler, Division 2 would be in Redvers School, Division 3 in Wauchope School, Division 4 would take place at Coulsen School, Division 5 at SE-24-08-32 and Division 6 at McAuley School.
